Hello, I am Sofia

I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Florence, Italy.

A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Began

Moving to Italy wasn't in the grand plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.

The Settling-In Phase

Culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning were part of it. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Built Nelnen Avelqu Xenmel Le

Most information online was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.

This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Practical insights from living in Italy
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site ISN'T:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not simply a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our time in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Sofia
